One of the best tips we ever got when traveling was to do our research about where to dine before we left.While planning a trip to the Maine coast we happened upon a travel show on Food Network all about Portland, Maine. Here the host ate her way through the city, finding the best local spots with great prices. We excitedly took notes, and on vacation, we visited a few of the sites the show had featured; we enjoyed authentic Maine lobster rolls on picnic tables at the town wharf amidst locals. It remains high on our list of great memories from that trip.
