Pros:
Security: Whether lost or stolen, your credit card company will protect you.

Acceptance: Plastic is universally accepted around the world, and sometimes even required, as in the case of hotel or rental car reservations.

Rates: Credit card companies are often able to negotiate a better exchange rate to convert money than an individual could.
