Taking a train allows you to get off the beaten path and see sights you’d normally never see. It’s also always cheaper than flying or driving, and Amtrak offers comfortable bedrooms, a full-service menu (including drinks) and the chance to sit and soak up the beautiful landscape in their glass domed scenic car.

The Prada flagship store in SoHo is a must see for fashion and architecture buffs alike. A giant wave of zebrawood greets the patron upon walking in the doors. A staircase on one side guides people upstairs to the main sales floor. That’s a mannequin on display at center.

The Conde Nast building has won the ward for the first green skyscraper. Great insulation means the building doesn’t need to be heated or cooled for most of the year. The furniture is made of biodegradable material, and the air-delivery system provides 50% more fresh air than required by the NYC Building Code.
